Day 47: "Ouch"

I'm a bit of a dick sometimes.  I should have known better than to go and do a heavy shoulder workout last night, after knowing I'd pulled something in my shoulder just two days before, and then come home crowing about it on my blog.  Today I woke up in pain, which if anything has got worse throughout the day. My right shoulder/neck/upper-back area is really sore.  So I'm back on the ibuprofen.  What a 'gym noob' I am.

However, I've been sensible this evening.  I've postponed my Friday night back workout, and just kept to 30 minutes on the cross trainer (no arms!) to give my upper body a rest.  I'll tag the back workout onto tomorrow's leg workout if it's feeling better, or maybe even delay it to Sunday which is normally my cardio only day.  (If anyone knows of any good 'pulled muscle' remedies, other than rest, water, protein and ibuprofen, please let me know!)

My diet today has consisted of:

- Breakfast: An apple and a banana;
- Lunch: A mackerel salad;
- Afternoon snack:  I ate a little chocolate.  No guilt.  I ate it because I know I can now eat just the one without doing a Barney Gumble;
- Dinner: A tuna and mackerel salad.

All of my Friday night willpower is needed for the evening ahead.  My wife has decided to eat one of those huge long stacks of Jaffa Cakes in front of me tonight.  She's such a tease.


47 days gone, just 9 to go... can't quite believe I'm into 'single figures ahead'!
